Iran strike reveals Trump's courage and Schumer's betrayal of Israel

The next time everyone who cares about Israel casts their ballots, they must keep in mind what the top official in each party did at this fateful time.

The Three Musketeers at the Kotel

The Three are Rabbi Yehuda Glick, famous temple mount activist, and former Israel Mk, and then Robert Weinger, the world's greatest shofar blower and seller of Shofars, and myself after we had gone to the 12 gates of the Temple Mount in 2020 to blow the shofar to ask G-d to heal the world from the Pandemic. It was a highlight to my experience in living in Israel and I put it on my blog each day to remember.

The articles that I include each day are those that I find interesting, so I feel you will find them interesting as well. I don't always agree with all the points of each article but found them interesting or important to share with you, my readers, and friends. It is cathartic for me to share my thoughts and frustrations with you about life in general and in Israel. As a Rabbi, I try to teach and share the Torah of the G-d of Israel as a modern Orthodox Rabbi. I never intend to offend anyone but sometimes people are offended and I apologize in advance for any mistakes. The most important psychological principle I have learned is that once someone's mind is made up, they don't want to be bothered with the facts, so, like Rabbi Akiva, I drip water (Torah is compared to water) on their made-up minds and hope that some of what I have share sinks in. Another phase in the ancient Jerusalem excavation plan approved

At the government meeting in honor of Jerusalem Day, Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu's proposal to budget the fifth part of the national plan for the uncovering of ancient Jerusalem was approved.

The main projects that will be carried out as part of the program:

  • Pilgrim's Path in the City of David - Preparing the complex for visitors by adding content, lighting, accessibility and safety. In addition, excavation of the eastern arc of the Pilgrim's Path from the Jubilee Complex south and north will begin.
  • The King's Palace and the Great Cistern in the City of David - which is expected to open to the public in 2027.
  • Kedem Complex and Connection to the Ophel Tunnel - Continued excavations, advanced planning for the building, commencement of foundation construction and advancement of content production for the structure, as well as planning for the Ophel Tunnel connecting the Kedem Complex to the Ophel Complex.
  • Birkat Shiloah - completion of the excavation, including crossing the water gate under the road and advancing planning for public reception at the site.
  • Education - Continuation and intensification of educational and heritage activities in the field of archaeology in coordination with the Ministry of Education.

In order to promote the program, the Heritage Ministry has allocated a significant budget of over 15 million shekels from a number of government ministries: the Ministry of Heritage, the Ministry of Jerusalem and Israeli Tradition, the Ministry of Diaspora, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ministry of the Negev, the Galilee and National Resilience, as well as a designated addition from the government.

The Portion of Chukat

The Second Red Sea Miracle

Once again the Children of Israel find themselves ready to enter the Promised Land- this time at the end of 40 years of wandering decreed upon them as a result of the sin of the spies.

But their complaints continue- this time concerning the lack of water. Moses gets angry, doesn't follow G-d's instructions and is punished by not being able to enter the Land of Israel.

The complaints repeat themselves time after time: "Why have you brought the congregation of the Lord to this desert so that we and our livestock should die there? Why have you taken us out of Egypt to bring us to this evil place; it is not a place for seeds, or for fig trees, grapevines, or pomegranate trees, and there is no water to drink." (Numbers 20;4-5)

In the midst of this troublesome situation we find a ray of light emanating from behind the dark clouds: "Concerning this it is told in the account of the Wars of the Lord, "What He gave at the Sea of] Reeds and the streams of Arnon." (Numbers 21;14)

The Torah tells us of the great miracle which took place by the stream of Arnon, a miracle as great as that which transpired at the Red Sea following the exodus from Egypt.

The Emorites and the Moabites had planned to ambush the Children of Israel on their way to the Land of Israel. The Arnon stream formed a narrow and high crevice beneath which the Children of Israel were to pass. The two tribes positioned themselves on either side of the crevice, planning to shower the Israelites with rocks and boulders as they tried to pass. But then a miracle happened. As the Israelites passed the two sides of the mountain closed behind them and crushed those waiting in ambush.

The Children of Israel continued their journey, totally unaware of what had just transpired above their heads. It was only after they emerged from the wadi did they see the stream full of blood and objects belonging to the enemy tribes.

And it is because of this that the Children of Israel started to sing: "Then Israel sang this song: "'Ascend, O well,' sing to it!" (Numbers 21;17)

This amazing story which compares the miracle of the stream of Arnon to that of the Red Sea is alluded to in the curvature of the letter "pai" in the word "sufa" which in itself is an allusion to the Red Sea (Sea of Reeds).
