Kindness (and walking in G-d's ways) is what makes the word go around
Rabbi Yehuda Lave from Jerusalem
A person who is serious about self-improvement will be grateful to anyone who points out his faults! (Whereas a person who does not have a strong desire for self-improvement will deny that he has any faults - even those which are blatant.)
Utilize the criticism of others as an opportunity for introspection.
Now it is very hard to take criticism from somone that you love. You always want to be perfect in her/his eyes. For that reason in Hebrew the gemetria (value of the Hebrew letters numerically) value of criticism is the same as honey!! Criticism must be given with love.
