Rainbow in the Night--Holocaust based story and Shabbat Shalom and Shana Tova

Power of Patience

The Talmud (Airuvin 54b) relates that Rabbi Praida had to repeat each lesson to a certain student four hundred times until the student understood it. This is usually cited as an example of the patience needed to be a teacher.

We can also see the courage and perseverance of the student. Most people would give up after twenty or thirty repetitions and say they lack the necessary intelligence to comprehend the subject. This student realized he would eventually understand if he just heard each point enough times. When you say you cannot understand something, how many times did you try before you reached your conclusion? We have tremendous ability to understand almost anything if we have the patience to hear the ideas enough times. Pride gets in the way, and so does frustration. But a truth seeker does not worry about what others might think and keeps his mind on the goal. Sometimes, like hard wood (see picture below), we have to be hard and not give up

A Holocaust music video that the world must see

Using stunning cinematography, a haunting score, hard hitting lyrics and vocals that will touch the deepest recesses of the soul, this historical work offers a glimpse into World War II Krakow as seen through the eyes of a survivor. "Rainbow in the Night" is both a euphoric tribute to the indomitable human spirit that enabled the Jewish people to survive against all odds and also a call to arms, to rekindle the spark of Jewish pride and unity among Jews worldwide, as we continue to rebuild the generations that were destroyed by the Nazis. The Ancient City Of Jerusalem

A beautiful video, which portrays the wide diversity and universality of the ancient city of Jerusalem. What the video chooses not to emphasize is that diversity exists in Jerusalem due to the fact that it is under Jewish control. All religions are protected and welcome in the modern State of Israel. Under Jordanian control, the city was ethnically cleansed of Jews and Jewish holy sites were ransacked and destroyed. The city of Jerusalem is tolerant of all, because it is controlled by tolerant people. One shudders to think what would happen if the city was given over to Muslim control, as some world leaders and Muslim countries would like. Even today, the one holy site shared by Jews and Muslims, the Temple Mount, is controlled by the Islamic Waqf. It is the only site in Israel where people are denied basic religious rights and freedoms and sometimes access to the site. Although considered the holiest site of the Jewish religion, all non-Muslims are denied the right to pray, sing or do anything that appears religious while visiting the Temple Mount. At the same time, Muslims are verbally abusive and violent to religious Jews who visit there. Jerusalem is a universal and diverse city. Protected by its ancient guardians, the People of Israel, it shall remain open to all peoples and all religions.
