Preemie Deer, dog rescue, and Israel Cabinet okays extending Daylight savings time

Respond To Arguments With Honest Humility

Respond to the outbursts of others with humility. Agree with any truth you see in their statement. By agreeing with part of the person's comments, you are likely to calm him down. ("Yes, I was inconsiderate." "I agree with you that I can improve." "That was a stupid thing I did.")
Conversely, when you try to defend yourself, an angry person will usually keep up his attack. Arguing with him adds fuel to the fire. When you agree with him, however, he will see that he has no reason to keep arguing since you already agree with him. Some people find this difficult to do, but try this a few times, and you will see that it works wonders.

Cabinet Okays Extending Daylight Savings Time

Published: June 23rd, 2013
The Cabinet on Sunday approved a measure to extend Daylight Savings Time until the end of October. It also approved exporting 40 percent of natural gas, and the two decisions prompted Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to remark, "Now we have a land flowing with milk and honey, gas and sunlight."
The latest change concerning when Israel moves its clocks backwards puts an end to a long-time argument that has pitted Haredi and many national religious rabbis against the secular community.
Many rabbis have objected to extending "summer time" beyond the day before Yom Kippur because it would mean the 25-hour fast, although starting later in the evening, also would end around 7 p.m. after a hot day and may cause people to ignore the commandment to fast.
The Knesset last year approved changing the law and extending "summer time" until the end of September, Yom Kippur often falls in October, but the new proposed change would eliminate that possibility.
The government is expected to bring the bill to the Knesset for preliminary and final passage in time for it to take effect this year.

Subject: Fw: Preemie Deer

Preemie Deer
This tiny deer was delivered by Caesarean section at a wildlife hospital
after his mother was killed by a car.  Little Rupert, who is so small he can
fit in an adult's  hand, was born after vets failed in their battle to save his

At just six inches tall and weighing just over a pound, he is now in an

incubator in the intensive care unit at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital in
Buckinghamshire. He has only recently opened his eyes.

Les Stocker, founder of Tiggywinkles, said: Rupert's mother had very severe

injuries. We brought him out and got him breathing and then he went into
an incubator on oxygen. He is now being fed by a tube.

Tucked in, Rupert is in an incubator

Staff are optimistic Rupert, now five days old, will make a full recovery.
Deer are very, very tricky but this one has spirit. He's extremely feisty little

guy and quite pushy, Mr Stocker said.

Asleep: Rupert takes 40 winks
