Appreciate Life To Its Fullest

We regret to inform you of the passing of our chaver, Rabbi Mordechai Goldstein of Jerusalem, Israel, rosh ha-yeshiva of the Diaspora Yeshiva Toras Yisrael on Mount Zion. The levaya and kevura have already taken place.

Shiva will be observed until Thursday morning December 8th at Rechov Yitzok Mann 5 in the Givat Mordechai section of Jerusalem,

May the family know of no more sorrow.

When we learn to appreciate life to its fullest, we will be oblivious to many of its painful aspects. We will definitely try to deal with them effectively, but will not feel emotional suffering, since the joy of being alive will outweigh anything negative that might occur.

Imagine a person who just now won a large sum of money in a lottery. He will feel such joy that if he accidentally broke a glass cup, he would feel no suffering whatsoever because of that loss.

The joy of being alive can be much greater than the joy of winning millions of dollars. A person able to master this attitude, which takes time and effort, will not have psychosomatic difficulties, since he will not view anything that happens to him as negative/

Even before someone totally masters this, it helps greatly to reflect on what it would be like integrating this.

"And the king sent and called for Shimi, and said unto him: Build thee a house in Yerushalayim, and dwell there, and go not forth thence any whither." I Kings 2:36 (The Israel Bible™)

The election of Donald Trump has led to the fast-tracking of plans to build 1,400 new homes in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Ramat Shlomo as Israel anticipates an end to the "de facto" building freeze in place during the Obama administration.

An official from the Jerusalem municipality said the construction in Ramat Shlomo, which is located past the Green Line, is set to be approved in light of Trump's victory. Trump is widely expected to ease the US's hardline anti-settlement policy, which led to frosty relations between the two allies over the past eight years and strangled building in Judea and Samaria.

"In Jerusalem, it's as if Trump is already in office," said the municipality official on Sunday, the Jerusalem Post reported. "The problem is that nobody knows what his policies will actually be."

He dismissed any denouncement from the lame-duck administration. "Even if the [current] State Department or White House issues a condemnation, it won't be worth much at this point."

Construction in Ramat Shlomo has been hotly contested under Obama's State Department, which claims that building Jewish homes in East Jerusalem threatens the possibility of a two-state solution.

However, as the official pointed out, "Anyone who has been to Ramot Shlomo knows that in any possible peace agreement – even peace plans put forward by the Palestinians – this neighborhood will stay a part of Israel.

"In no way does this [construction] hinder the possibility of moving forward in peace."

In addition to the Ramat Shlomo units, 3,000 units are planned for Jerusalem's Gilo neighborhood, and 2,600 for the Givat Hamatos neighborhood, making up a total of over 7,000 new housing units for Jewish residents in Israel's capital city.

In stark contrast to the diplomatic feud which accompanied the issue under Obama, Trump has promised that his administration will empower Israel to build. A Trump spokesman said shortly after the election that the president-elect "does not define settlements as obstacles to peace."

Israeli settler leaders insist that there is "no question" Trump is supportive of the settlement movement and anticipate a "revolution in action" regarding Israel's approach to building Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria.

However, the question of settlement under Trump has already sparked infighting in the Knesset between right-wingers, moderates, and leftists.

MK Nachman Shai, of the Zionist Union, said in response to reports of the Ramat Shlomo construction that whoever approves the measure is "out of his mind."

Shai argued that the move would alienate Israel on the international stage and would be equivalent to "sticking a finger in the eyes of the incoming and outgoing American government."

Shaquille O'Neal dances the hora at a Jewish wedding and it's something you gotta see Let's face it: at 7'1'' and 350 pounds, Shaq is built to dunk. But dancing? Well, you may be surprised: This past weekend, at a Jewish wedding in Miami, the former NBA star danced the hora perfectly. Unfortunately, as TMZ points out, we didn't learn how many Jews it takes to lift one Shaquille O'Neal — reportedly, efforts to lift him in a chair failed miserably.

The Final Bill For Obama's 2015 Vacations Just Released… Prepare Yourself, It's INFURIATING over $70,000,000

Seven years ago, then-Sen. Barack Hussein Obama promised Americans that he would refrain from taking vacations — particularly excessive ones — if he were elected president.

The latest report from Judicial Watch makes it clear that he lied to get elected (as if that had been in doubt).

Specifically, the report revealed that Obama has spent $3,115,688.70 on travel expenses this year alone making unnecessary trips to Palm Springs, New York City and Martha's Vineyard.

Obama's outing to Palm Springs in June, which in itself cost $2,187,172.20, was for playing golf, while his trip to New York City the following month was for hanging out and "sightseeing" with daughters Sasha and Malia.

His final trip, made in August, was for playing golf again, this time with former president and possible accessory to murder Bill Clinton, as well as a few others.

"President Obama evidently cares not one whit about the costs to beleaguered taxpayers for his personal and political travel," Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton said in regard to these expensive excursions.

Fitton added that it was highly inappropriate for Obama to use Air Force One, as well as "an army of law enforcement," just to go sightseeing in New York with his daughters.

"Barack Obama is enamored with the presidency's trappings of power, and taxpayers are left holding the tab," Fitton concluded.

Note also that the $3,115,688.70 price tag does not take into consideration security costs, which have yet to be revealed by the Secret Service.

Furthermore, the total amount of vacation expenses accrued by both the Obamas and the Bidens during the past seven years is a ridiculous $70,563,336.75.
