The Ultimate Pleasure "And you will rejoice in all of the good that HaShem, your G-d, has given you" (Devarim 26:11). "Good" refers to the holy `Torah. The more we sense the sweetness and pleasantness inherent in every word of Torah, the more we feel love and enthusiasm for the Torah. All the gold and silver in the world is meaningless in comparison to the true goodness of the Torah. Lesson: Torah is the ultimate pleasure because it is the ultimate goodness for the body and the soul, in this world as well as in the eternal dimension of Gan Eden. Application: Light up your soul with the brilliance of Torah -- enjoy its beauty, truth, wisdom, and holiness. (Based on the commentary of the Ohr HaChaim to the Torah) |
