It was a highlight to my experience in living in Israel and I put it on my blog each day to remember. The articles that I include each day are those that I find interesting, so I feel you will find them interesting as well. Love Rabbi Yehuda Lave. Chol Hamo'ed Passover The days between the first holiday of Passover and the last and seventh holiday of Passover are called Chol Hamo'ed Passover. During Chol Hamo'ed, we eat matzah, and we are not allowed to eat chametz. These days are characterized by festive feasts and a holiday atmosphere, while praying we add the Hallel prayer that is said during the holidays. Most of the crafts are allowed to be done on these days, but there are certain crafts that are not done in the Chol Hamo'ed and this is the reason for the name "Chol Hamo'ed Passover" days that consist of workdays (Chol) and holidays (Moed) together. Pesach (Passover) 2025 is from April 12 to April 20 2025 Passover is celebrated by Jews every year, commemorating the anniversary of our miraculous Exodus from Egyptian slavery, as told in the Bible. On the first two nights of Passover (just the first night in Israel), we hold a Seder. Love Yehuda Lave The Portion of Tzav The portion of Tzav continues the description of the sacrifices to be offered in the Tabernacle (Mishkan) by Aaron the High Priest (Kohen Gadol) and his sons. Following the burnt offering we read of the meal offering which consisted of matzot and not chametz. Even the remains of the sacrifice were prohibited to come into contact with chametz, as explained in Tractate Menachot (55) and in Rashi's commentary. The curved "pei" in the word "teiafeh" alludes to this law.
