The Three Musketeers at the Kotel The Three are Rabbi Yehuda Glick, famous temple mount activist, and former Israel Mk, and then Robert Weinger, the world's greatest shofar blower and seller of Shofars, and myself after we had gone to the 12 gates of the Temple Mount in 2020 to blow the shofar to ask G-d to heal the world from the Pandemic. It was a highlight to my experience in living in Israel and I put it on my blog each day to remember. The articles that I include each day are those that I find interesting, so I feel you will find them interesting as well. The most important psychological principle I have learned is that once someone's mind is made up, they don't want to be bothered with the facts, so, like Rabbi Akiva, I drip water (Torah is compared to water) on their made-up minds and hope that some of what I have share sinks in. Sukkot: September 25 - October 2, 2026 The seven days of Sukkot—celebrated by dwelling in the sukkah, taking the Four Kinds, and rejoicing—are followed by Shemini Atzeret/Simchat Torah (October 2-4). Sukkot—when we expose ourselves to the elements in greenery-covered huts—commemorates G‑d sheltering our ancestors as they traveled from Egypt to the Promised Land. The Four Kinds express our unity and our belief in G‑d’s omnipresence. Coming after the solemn High Holidays, Sukkot is a time of joy and happiness The first two days (or one day in Israel) are yom tov, when work is forbidden, candles are lit in the evening, and festive meals are preceded with Kiddush and contain challah dipped in honey. The remainder of the days are quasi holidays, known as chol hamoed. We dwell in the sukkah and take the Four Kinds every day (except for Shabbat, when we do not take the Four Kinds). read more about Sukkot There is something quite extraordinary about the Hebrew year we are in. 5787 begins with Shabbat. Rosh Hashanah begins on Friday evening, and its first day is Shabbat. But here is the beautiful part: The year will also end on a Friday evening, just as another Shabbat begins. So, in a sense, the entire year of 5787 is wrapped in Shabbat. It begins with Shabbat. It travels through all the joys, challenges, surprises, decisions and opportunities of a full year. And then it returns us to Shabbat once again. And this is not an everyday calendar coincidence. 5787 is one of those rare Hebrew years that begins with Shabbat and, 385 days later, ends by leading directly into another Shabbat and another Rosh Hashanah. It happened last in 2002–2003, and after this year it will not happen again until 2053–2054. There is something beautifully symbolic about entering an entire year through the gates of Shabbat and emerging from it through those very same gates: from shalom toward shalem, from peace toward greater wholeness. Jews make up 7,828 millions of this country. (Just under 76%). There were 182,000 births over the last 12 months. 50,000 residents died. The mean income per family unit was $8,777. per month, across Israel. After routine taxes the net income was $7,110. per month. Most Israeli families have routine expenses of $5,000 /month (on the average). (Furthermore, there are over 600,000 illegals living in the country as either Jordanian Arabs ( mostly in the Galil) who live and work in Israel, tourists who stay, or Arabs from the PA territories who succeed in living here and find work. Un-official data puts the number of Jews living in Yehuda and The Shomron at 500,000 Israel must fight harder to keep its doctors in the country Israel needs doctors. There are Jewish doctors around the world who may want to make Israel their home.
