Build Relationships On Common Goals
Two people who want to have a good relationship need to be aware of a basic principle:
When each one tries to pull the other to his own direction, there will be conflict and constant quarrel.Especially if they are both strong willed.
But when people focus on their common goals, the differences between them will not cause difficulties, and they will have a peaceful relationship.
Whenever you find yourself about to quarrel with another person, ask yourself, "What goals do we have in common?" This way of looking at the situation will make it easier for you to find a solution that will be satisfactory to both. G-d gave me a woman that is different than I in many ways. But she is pretty and smart and has a big heart and like me, wants to get close to G-d.
To put the above philosophy into practice, I go out of my way to find things that she likes to do and if I also enjoy that activity, we are win/win right at the start. Focus on the positives in life and Henry David Thoreau's philosophy that life is full of frustration, can apply to someone else.
Ignorant men raise questions that wise men answered a thousand years ago.
