Self-Talk of Persistence and Perseverance Being persistent is the number one pattern that will enable you to create success in your life. When you persist and persevere until you reach your goal, you can accomplish so much more than if you give up when you are bored or when challenges arise.
One thing is true of everyone who has reached large goals. They all persisted until they succeeded. Many people start worthy projects, but they give up before they reach the goal that they set for themselves.
Self-talk is the source of someone's ability or failure to persist and persevere. What is the self-talk of persistence?
"I'll keep on going as long as it takes. What I'm working on is worth the investment of time and energy."

"As I build up the habit of persisting, I can accomplish many more things in my life. So it's not only the present project that I will be completing. Finishing this project will help me achieve in more and more ways."
"I feel great about being persistent. I am building my entire character in the process."
"I see the goal that I am striving for. I am enjoying every step along the way."

Always learn from your past successes. Think of instances when you persisted and were later glad that you did. What did you tell yourself to enable yourself to persist? Tell yourself similar things when you want to persist in the future.

Many Golani soldiers reported this:  A few Hamas terrorists were captured and interrogated . We asked them, "if you had these tunnels for so long, how come they were never used to kidnap or kill Israelis?" They answered: "we were digging and building for 2 years. Many tunnels ran 25 feet below the surface all the way into Israel. We prepared for 2 years and were ready to use them this Rosh Hashanah. The plan was to attack with 125-130 terrorists in each tunnel (40 found so far), armed and dressed as IDF soldiers. On Rosh Hashanah, we were to set off explosions and kill as many Jews as possible.  That is when most guards are off in shul for the 2 day holiday. We planed to kidnap as many Jews possible, and hide them in Gaza as human shields. It would have been the end of israel, we would have taken over. All of the Hamas terrorists were going  in, and they were almost ready--only 2 months left! This Rosh Hashana they were going to do this! And our war now saved our lives." The tragic deaths of the three boys kidnapped enabled the IDF to find these tunnels before mass destruction took place. Please share this story if you love Israel and support their cause. People must know.

       | | BREAKING:       IDF Captures Hamas Combat Manual Explaining Benefits of Human Shields | | SWC: "End double standard against Israel -hold Hamas accountable for crimes against Palestinians and Israelis"
 | | August 4, 2014 | |
       | | A Hamas manual on "Urban Warfare" found by the Israeli Defense Forces makes it unmistakably clear that Hamas desires civilian casualties amongst its own people and encourages its fighters to engage in battles in civilian populated areas in order to draw an Israeli response.
"Where is the U.N. Human Rights Council? Where is Amnesty International?Where is Human Rights Watch? Where is the international media and Middle East pundits. Where are all the lawfare experts? Here is 'Exhibit A' to indict Hamas for war crimes and crimes against humanity by placing the people of Gaza as human shields," said Rabbis Marvin Hier and Abraham Cooper, dean and founder and associate dean of the Simon Wiesenthal Center.
 | | From the IDF Blog:

IDF forces in the Gaza Strip found a Hamas manual on "Urban Warfare," which belonged to the Shuja'iya Brigade of Hamas' military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades. The manual explains how the civilian population can be used against IDF forces and reveals that Hamas knows the IDF is committed to minimizing harm to civilians.

Throughout Operation Protective Edge, Hamas has continuously used the civilian population of Gaza as human shields. The discovery of a Hamas "urban warfare" manual by IDF forces reveals that Hamas' callous use of the Gazan population was intentional and preplanned.

This Hamas urban warfare manual exposes two truths: (1) The terror group knows full well that the IDF will do what it can to limit civilian casualties. (2) The terror group exploits these efforts by using civilians as human shields against advancing IDF forces.

 The Manual:

In a portion entitled "Limiting the Use of Weapons," the manual explains that: The soldiers and commanders (of the IDF) must limit their use of weapons and tactics that lead to the harm and unnecessary loss of people and [destruction of] civilian facilities. It is difficult for them to get the most use out of their firearms, especially of supporting fire [e.g. artillery]. Clearly Hamas knows the IDF will limit its use of weapons in order to avoid harming civilians, including refraining from using larger firepower to support for infantry.
The manual goes on to explain that the "presence of civilians are pockets of resistance" that cause three major problems for advancing troops:
 (1) Problems with opening fire(2) Problems in controlling the civilian population during operations and afterward
 (3) Assurance of supplying medical care to civilians who need it
Lastly, the manual discusses the benefits for Hamas when civilian homes are destroyed: The destruction of civilian homes: This increases the hatred of the citizens towards the attackers [the IDF] and increases their gathering [support] around the city defenders (resistance forces[i.e. Hamas]). It is clear that Hamas actually desires the destruction of homes and civilian infrastructure, knowing it will increase hatred for the IDF and support their fighters.
 Why Shuja'iya is Important

It is also of no small importance that this manual belongs to the Shuja'iya Brigade. The IDF fought a major battle in the neighborhood of Shuja'iya, which had been turned into a terrorist stronghold. The discovery of this manual suggests that the destruction in Shuja'iya was always part of Hamas' plan.

 | | Thousands Mark Tisha B'Av at Kotel including ME !!!!!
 by Gil Ronen

Thousands of Jews gathered at the Western Wall (Kotel ) Plaza in Jerusalem Tuesday to mark Tisha B'Av – the ninth day of the Hebrew month of Av – on which the Second Jewish Temple was destroyed, 1944 years ago.

The First Temple was also destroyed on the same day of the year by Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, in the Hebrew year 3,338, or 2,436 years ago.

Police said that there are less people at the Kotel than the number that usually gathers on Tisha B'Av, and attribute this to the two terror attacks in Jerusalem Monday. There is a very high police presence in the city, however.

The Temple Mount itself is open to Jews for the first time in three years, but there has been rioting there.

Police disgracefully closed off the Kotel Katan, or Small Western Wall, to Jews, after Arabs hurled rocks. This, despite the fact that the location was cleaned up especially for Tisha B'Av. The Kotel Katan is an extension of the Western Wall that accessible through the Muslim Quarter of the Old City.

The Religious Affairs Ministry announced this week that it was taking responsibility for the Kotel Katan, however, and would be responsible for its upkeep. The decision was made on Monday, the eve of the Fast of the 9th of Av.

The Western Wall is a supporting wall of the Temple Mount complex, on which the two Holy Temples were built approximately 2,850 and 2,350 years ago, respectively. Though it is technically outside the Temple area, it has special sanctity; the rabbinic Sages taught that the Divine Presence would never leave the Western Wall.

Of the nearly 500 meters of length of the Western Wall, roughly 200 meters of the southern end [to the right of the worshipers] are easily accessible today - but the remainder is just as sacred. Another 100 meters or so are included in a tour of the Western Wall Tunnels. Above these tunnels, near the Iron Gate entrance to the Temple Mount and on Temple Mount floor level, is an open area facing a short segment of the Wall. This is the area known as the Kotel HaKatan.

Though it is off the beaten track, the Kotel HaKatan is actually slightly more holy than the familiar Western Wall plaza, because of its closer proximity to the Holy of Holies of the ancient Temples. However, one would not know this upon visiting it - for it is hard to get to, has no trappings of a holy site, and is not even protected 24 hours a day.
