Smart collar lets you track pets, talk to them and stop them barking

Using virtual boundaries, the collar (pictured), designed by Texas-based DogTelligent, connects to an app that warns owners if their dog strays too far. It has a built-in microphone and speaker.

New jab that lowers blood pressure for up to six months

Japanese researchers found that injecting a DNA vaccine into rats reduced blood pressure for six months at a time, reducing damage to the heart and blood vessels as a result.
